New on SI: Alex Smith Cleared for Full Football Activity

QB Alex Smith was cleared for full football activity on Friday, per ESPN's Stephania Bell.

Washington quarterback Alex Smith has been cleared for full football activity.

After suffering from a fracture to his tibia and fibula in 2018, Smith has finally received clearance from his surgical team.

The 36 year old spoke to ESPN and said he is still in the process of going through COVID-19 testing but he expects to report to the teams facility on Monday.

Once at the facility Smith will undergo a team physical and Washington will determine the next steps for Smith's return.

The quarterbacks' contract with Washington runs through 2022.
